As Edward R. Murrow maintained, controversy makes for good television. That must be doubly true for the Internet. If so and that is something you find entertaining yes and informing, then you have come to the right place. The media is controlled by the police when it comes to their image. This web site is a small attempt to begin to correct that imbalance. When the Police control the dissemination of news and vital public information, such as in the cities and County of Sonoma, fascism and white supremacists have an easy go of it. What's the difference between the Sheriff and the Police? One wears a darker uniform and one has more power to write off the murders of blacks and other minorities. That would be the Sonoma County Sheriff in his very inadvisable duel role as Coroner. The Cotati and Rohnert Park Police, Sonoma Highway Patrol, yes they all look great and sexy on the local news show, who must play along if they want in on any future scoops. So you have the entrenched system of corruption where one hand washes the other hand. If the Cotati Police happen to get in trouble, say for creating numerous false emergencies for profit, like the one they created in Cotati in front of the Spanky's and Tradewinds bars on the night of September 29, 2017. All they need do is to refer the matter to the Sonoma County Sheriff for an "impartial" review.

Sonona County Sheriff Freitas: Ongoing Corruption Probe

Corruption of Sheriff, of Police and Fire Chiefs the Rule, NOT the Exception in Sonoma County

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office are themselves under investigation for their complicity in the abuse of prisioners in a lawsuit filed in US District Court naming Sheriff Steve Freitas and members of the Detention Division.

Under Sheriff Freitas' watch, the pressing need for better oversight of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department came glaringly into focus. Case in point: The out of control Sonoma County Sheriff's Deputy who callously gunned down a hispanic teenager with a toy gun without so much as a warning shot.

He needs to be held accountable for murdering a teenager. Just because he's a police officer, doesn't give him the right to kill. He is governed by same laws, last I understood.

Would Andy Gomes be alive today if he was a white teenager instead of Hispanic, yes.

Sonoma County Gazette April 15, 2015: Local journalist Zoe Tummillo reports, "It is true that there is an abuse of power."

Sonoma County Sheriff Steve Freitas for instance, hypothetically speaking of course, from his position atop Sonoma County Sheriff's Department, he could easily routinely cover up murder and "who's to know?"

Now isn't that a service that organized crime wouldst covet? To add to his value, Freitas can also offer, in his duel role as the County Sheriff and the County Coroner, to bury any case that his organized crime bosses desire.

Reasoning of organized crime: If you can corrupt one police chief then you control the whole police department. More bang for the organized crime buck. Men like Sheriff Freitas --above reproach-- are the ideal candidates as covers for organized crime's activities in Sonoma County.

A misplaced siren here, a threatening comment there to targets designated by those doing the bribing. Oh does that say bribing, scratch that and put, "Great price on that new car, vacation, home loan, donation to the Sheriff's reelection fund…"

Unless and until Sheriffs on the take like Sheriff Freitas come forward and not only admit their perfidy in accepting ongoing cleverly disguised financial support from organized crime. But also identify all those involved in that process for criminal charges. That is how long the systemic subversion of Sonoma County law enforcement and other public services --such as the fire department-- by organized crime will continue unabated.

A long held dirty secret is the Ku Klux Klan-like Police subculture that rewards officers with cash and other brownie points who kill blacks, harm gays and other minorities. Fueled by the passions of the upper echelons of organized crime.

Hence the strikingly common police practice of killing blacks --or other targets of their racial disapproval such as Andy Gomes-- who resist arrest --or not-- or for any other convenient reason that sounds plausible, like PTSD.

Respectable salaries all for Sheriff Freitas. But given the cost of living in California and putting two sons through school, it's easier to understand why the Sheriff regularly accepts payments of cash, vacations and other financial considerations --some of which are filtered down to the rank and file-- from organized crime to better help make ends meet.

Citizens React Via Twitter to Killing of Hispanic Youth by Sheriff's Deputy

Not everyone in the community was convinced of the sincerity of the regret expressed by the Sonoma County Sheriff about the senseless gunning down of a youth by his deputy...

Sheriff Steve Freitas is pleased to announce that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is going to conduct an independent investigation into last Tuesday's shooting that took place on Moorland Avenue in Santa Rosa.

How could anyone find that pleasing?

LETTER TO

Sheriff Steve Freitas, Sonoma County Sheriff's Office

SHERIFF STEVE FREITAS: We, the undersigned, demand the immediate reassignment of Sonoma County Deputy Sheriff Erick Gelhaus from street patrol to an administrative position.

After shooting and killing Andy Lopez, Deputy Gelhaus emphasized to investigators the high level of fear he experienced – causing him to shoot when shooting was unnecessary. By his own admission, Deputy Gelhaus is a PUBLIC SAFETY HAZARD who could, in a moment of fear, kill again! Darren Wilson, the officer who killed Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO, indicated in his resignation letter that he saw his own presence on the Ferguson police force as a danger to the community and to his fellow police officers. Deputy Gelhaus' presence on the streets of Sonoma County presents a similar danger.

Sheriff Steve Freitas should learn from Darren Wilson. He should recognize that it would be better for everyone if Deputy Erick Gelhaus was taken off the street.

Irregular Chicago Hire by Sonoma County Solidifies Control of Organized Crime Over Fire Department

Posted by Sherlock Pwahrow on April 4, 2015 at 12:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Ever since the Sonoma County Fire department brought in Chief Alfred Terrell from outside of the area, there have been a flurry of meetings and closed-door conversations about the issue that it's become. Volunteer chiefs are especially concerned about the lasting impact on their companies that are overseen by Chief Terrell.

Snubbing a field of over seventy qualified local applicants, Sonoma County inexplicably hired an out-of-towner to operate its mish mash of ill-funded, disorganized fire departments.

This hiring sends all the wrong messages to our students studying hard right here in Sonoma County to serve their community. What it says in effect is that,

"No matter how much you strive to serve your neighborhood through faithful actions. Like following the job application process as instructed at certified local education providers such as SRJC Petaluma and SRJC Santa Rosa. Local talent, Sonoma County has zero faith in you and will not give you a chance to establish a profitable local career in public service. You can expect a runaround in an unfair hiring process that devalues your service to your local community. So you too will have to abandon your hometown in order to succeed. Leaving behind friends and family just like Alfred Terrell."

At the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors meeting in November 2013, County Administrator Veronica Ferguson made a point of noting that questions had been raised about Terrell's selection.

"We've received some concerns from the volunteer fire companies that we haven't done enough due diligence and they're concerned about Mr. Terrell's ability to work with volunteer fire companies," Ferguson testified before the supervisors.

Terrell Misappropriated Fleet Management JPA – Regional Apparatus Maintenance Project

New Sonoma County Fire Chief Alfred Terrell wasted no time in attacking his duties. Using his newfound authority as Fleet Manager of the Regional Apparatus Maintenance Project, Chief Terrell promptly dispatched a fire truck and an ambulance to serve the whims of organized crime as seen here.

In a brazen stunt performed in front of aghast patrons of the Sonoma Branch of the Sonoma County Public Library's Book Sale, a phony 2 alarm fire, designed to harass and frighten an intended victim with repeated shrill siren blasts. A fire truck and ambulance are seen here as they violate their authority for when and where to use such warnings by blaring their sirens in front of the Sonoma Public Library for a nonexistent emergency.

There has been ongoing concern over funding issues and some worry over moves to consolidate districts or at least centralize their command.

Sonoma County Fire Chiefs' "Chief's Fund": Slush Fund for Organized Crime

There are those in the community that have begun to wonder where an agency that is constantly crying poor, like the Sonoma County Fire Department, finds the money for all of the new equipment they have been flaunting.

Chief Mulas reported that the Association (Using the “Chief’s Fund) purchased 2 new pickup trucks for the District, which will be given to and registered to the District. In case you haven't checked lately, new pickups aren't cheap.

Terrell could not be reached for comment. He is to be paid between $137,400 and $167,000. The county said that they were not allowed to comment on allegations that an unauthorized outside bank account is being employed by the Sonoma County Fire Chief's known as the "Chief's Fund" and that it is in reality a slush fund financed by organized crime.

Monte Rio Fire Chief Steve Baxman said "Funding is an Achilles' heel of the county's fire service." and urged Terrell to look to make changes on that front.

Retiring Fire Chief Milks County for Maximum Benefits for Minimum Service

A Grateful Public Showers Its Brave Firefighters with Benefits

The general public rightly looks up to the intrepid members of their various local fire departments and they are regularly esteemed as role models. They are the face of heroism at its best. Such as that demonstrated by the heroic efforts of the 9/11/2001 first responders.

But unfortunately not everyone in every fire department maintains such a heroic ethos.Case in point: Mark Aston. Who, hiding behind medical loopholes and doctors notes, valiently backed into a benefit package designed for the REAL heroic firefighters. The ones who daily risk their lives to protect their community from a host of threats.

Not those like Mr. Aston who, gaming the system, hide behind medical loopholes and doctors notes to fleece the taxpayers of sorely needed funds to fight real fires.

Is it any wonder that California's cities are so beholden to the powerful Policemen and Fireman's unions?

Who collectively have extracted (and continue to bilk/extract) huge indemnities from the state in billions of dollars in benefits that --while the recipients may mostly deserve them for so courageously protecting the public-- it was always a fantasy to suppose that the State, County and City treasuries could ever afford collecting growing legions of ex public officials living in the lap of luxury.

While those that pay their bills --the taxpayers-- get tossed out of their homes by thoughtless bankers. So the Police and Firmen's unions continue to hold all forms of California government financial hostage to perhaps overly grateful taxpayers and their elected representatives.

Here's why it's so disconcerting:

  • Amid suspicions and recriminations, Sonoma County Fire Chief Mark Aston --who ruled the Sonoma County Fire Department from 2008 through 2012-- proceeded to thank the public that is bankrolling his comfortable retirement by double dipping out all of the doe that he could before he walked out the door.
  • Witness the fleecing of the Sonoma County Fire Department and the citizens whose task it is to protect by rewarding such little accomplishment with such a big golden parachute.
  • There has been ongoing concern over funding issues

During a tenure marked by controversy, Aston championed an aggressive campaign to consolidate a perceived mish-mash of local fire departments and way stations under one banner. Some worried over his moves to consolidate the districts and to centralize their command.

Board Chairman David Rabbitt acknowledged the unsettled feelings. "There's a lot of anxiety."Aston was paid $181,312 in 2012. He leaves that unfinished work to an out of town successor for a barely earned cushy government pension plan.

Cadillac Benefit Package for a Nissan Versa's Worth of Work at Best

Backing into a benefit package designed for the heroic firefighters who daily risk their lives to protect their community from a host of threats. Not those that hide behind medical loopholes and doctors notes.

Mark Aston retires amid allegations- Poster child for overly generous government pension plans that daily suck California's treasuries dry.

Aston's agressive funding pushes for more discretionary cash for fire services alledgedly led to clashes with Sonoma County elected officials and with the local government administration --to name a few-- over his creative financing methods and potential saute'ing of Sonoma County Fire Department books. When asked for clarification by local media, Aston stated that he didn't want to say anything.

Aston, is it any wonder that California's cities are so beholden to the powerful Policemen and Fireman's unions? Who collectively have bilked (and continue to bilk) the state of billions in benefits that --while the recipients may mostly deserve them for protecting the public-- a grateful citizenry, and the taxpayers' representatives,

Former chief Mark Aston retired after taking medical leave in July 2012

Sonoma County Fire Chief Mark Aston stepped down from his post while on medical leave and remained off-duty until he retired at the end of 2012. Aston, who led the county fire department since 2008, was out on medical leave from mid-July for an injured foot and never returned before his retirement, in December 2012. When cleared by a friendly doctor to return to work before his retirement, he used accrued vacation and administrative leave to remain off-duty. Aston was paid $181,312 in 2012.

Aston, who retired to his home in Coarsegold, north of Fresno, denied any tension with county administrators, saying "I really don't want to say anything."

He announced his retirement on a date that perfectly extended his Sonoma County service to five years and thus made him eligible for a nice fat county pension. Courtesy of dumbfounded taxpayers.

Oh the last full measure!

LA County Sheriff Succumbs to Prison Abuse Affair

Posted by Sherlock Pwahrow on January 1, 2015 at 7:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca's brutal management of prisoners under his supervision represents yet another black eye for law enforcement. It is of great harm to society when public officials such as Sheriff Baca become part of the problem.

Instead of being part of the solution, Sheriff Baca, become the problem, did if not the honorable thing, at least the prudent thing in stepping down from his position.

Yet to be answered is, was this prison abuse simply a one-man operation? Is Sheriff Baca's resignation the end of this abuse or will it continue as before except for a bureaucratic shuffling of papers?

Is No News Good News in the Investigation of Abuses of Power by CHP Management?

Posted by Sherlock Pwahrow on January 1, 2015 at 3:25 PM Comments comments (0)

The public owes a great deal to the gallant CHP Officers that keep the highways and byways of Sonoma County safe for motorists. But when disturbing scandals like nude photo's shared between fellow officers that are stolen from arrest subject's cell phones or that of the high ranking CHP official who developed a tendency towards abuse of power come to light, questions must be asked regarding the wisdom of giving police chiefs and the like too much of it.

Some communities even allow police chiefs to double as coroners. Agatha Christie would have had a field day with a coroner/police chief gone bad. Unfortunately for the community, their remains a significant risk that someday one of those sheriff/coroners will go bad and do a lot of damage to the public interest.

With Captain Tracey now enjoying a protracted leave of absence at the taxpayer's expense, it is probable that the former leader of the Sonoma CHP will opt for retirement and the security of a fat Cadillac pension plan.

While the harried rank and file of the Sonoma California Highway Patrol can only hope that Tracey's replacement, Captain Chris Childs, is able to provide more stable leadership. Which will prove difficult. As Captain Childs' workload as head of the Napa CHP will remain.

Now faced with the additional burden of Tracey's duties, Childs must be hard pressed to stay on top of it all.

Sonoma County Sheriff Steve Freitas Reduces Online Presence Ahead of Possible Corruption Probe

Sonoma County Sheriff Steve Freitas: Sheriff of Sonoma or Sheriff of Nottingham?

The link to a recording of an in-depth interview with a local Sonoma County media outlet was abruptly pulled for fear of possible unintended disclosures ahead of a rumored corruption investigation.

Sheriff Freitas is now https://www.facebook.com/sheriffsteve.freitas?hc_location=stream" target="_blank">blocking his Facebook page from allowing the public to follow him online. Rumors about widespread organized crime money liberally lavished and artfully concealed amongst certain local NorCal police and fire officials continue.

Harkening back to rumors of "The checks are flying around." as reported in a Rohnert Park news publication. No links were found to the death of that same reporter's wife, of whose unexpected demise was reported shortly thereafter.

Photo: Sitting in Aguas Calientes

Sitting in Machu Picchu, or to be exact in the Pueblo of Aguas Calientes. It is raining, really raining, water holds a great presence here. Across the Calle or street the Urubamba River, my river of light, is roaring through this little Pueblo on it’s way to the Amazon. This is my 5th or 6th time to visit the great Cosmic reality of Machu Picchu and each time my connection to the Light and the Life of this Sacred place has grown in dimensions, beyond simple depth, dimensions open us to greater awareness and openings to aspects of our being. This was a fast trip, two nights, of course this is a place before time, a place where time you must bring with you as the Consciousness of Machu Pichu is of the Light.

I always love to see the faces of the people that come with us on our Journeys to Mach Picchu. You see we have a practice of leading the group to the top of the ridge above the main City and with their eyes closed we have them hold hands and walk connected to a vantage point where when they open their eyes the beauty and mystery all come together in one light filled moment. There are always tears of gratitude and feelings of Heart and Spirit opening to a greater reality as the mist and clouds shift and move between the Mountains from Machu Picchu to Putu Cusi and across the river gorge to Huayna Pichu the Cat, looking down on the Dove Rock out cropping of the North border of the City. Some call this Machu Picchu an ancient Ruin, they don’t get it, this is a place of Consciousness and Light, a place that connects worlds and dimensions all of which seem to have aspects that open within us as Human Beings, all connected, remembered, awakened by the Mystery of Life that lingers in the mist.

Sitting here in a street side café waiting for a pizza, smelling the wood smoke of the Pizza Ovens and the rain falling in big drops I watch the members of our journey step down from the bus with big smiles and laughter. I never had any aspirations of being a tour guide, still don’t, but somehow it just happened that I wanted to share these places where I have found so much inspiration for Life and so I keep coming back with small groups of pilgrims. I love it, most of the time, like right now, Urubamba River roaring through the Pueblo, wood smoke, Rain, Clouds and mist, smiles and hugs this is the beauty of our world and the legacy I want to share with my daughters.

The beauty and magic of life is all around us, we just have to look from the inside out. Whether in the hills of Tennessee or the coast of Malibu, the Temples of Teotihuacan or the Majesty of the Andes we really are surrounded by beauty and light, created of beauty and light. This afternoon we’ll catch the train back to Cusco and in a few days I’ll be on a flight back home to Malibu and the woman I share my dreams with. Seems everywhere I turn I am filled with gratitude. Gracias Mama Pacha, Gracias Apus Machu Pichu and Huayna Picchu, Putu Cusi and Ausungati, Gracias Mee for Loving me just the way I am and Gracias to all those who Journey with me for bringing your light to this world of Ours, May Peace be With You. by Lee Mccormick

As long as we Humans keep living with the Illusion that something OUT THERE is going to save us from our Human insanity we are doomed. It is our "beliefs" that got us into this mess and more or different "Beliefs"

will not get us out.Until we are willing to SEE what we are doing, really, on a very simple , fundamental level will live lost in our self created Illusion and that illusion has a very short shelf life at this point.

"Being spiritual has nothing to do with what you believe and everything to do with your state of consciousness."

NExt time the weather is terrible , wild, cold, windy....go out and walk in it, for a while. Get out and listen to the world , the real world of nature and creation. Let go of your human form and merge into the weather, the light, the wind. Stop living in such a pattern!

Behind the Mind of the Healdsburg Bankrobber

Posted by Lee McCormick at 4:12 PM less than five months before he robbed the Exchange Bank in Healdsburg, CA.

Apparently, if we are to believe his stated state of mind before hand, it must have been "The Spirit People" that helped him plan the holdup

Doing my Best, Living my life, listening to Those spirit people and taking my Time. It was an odd idea at first, doing your best being good enough and in fact your best being all you can do, your best, whatever that is. I lived with the words and idea for some time and at some point it sunk in. I am living doing my best and enjoying the doing it more than ever.

Time flys when your living over 40 and man time has been flying lately. Soon my wife and two little girls and myself will pack it up move most of the things in our Nashville home out to the Ranch house and take the rest back to Malibu where we are setting up a home again. This time our setting up a home came so easy that I had to say yes to those Spirit People that for me lead my way into and out of the choices I make with life. I deal with other people in my living and creating a life and those people are there as a part of the Spirit peoples direction not just cuse I may like them.

Less than two months later we find the globe hopping bank robber longing to begin his cushy new life with a brand new wife, conveniently acquired after the bank robbery...

Friday, March 2, 2012 COMING HOME TO MEE

I never sleep well on the nights that I have early flights to somewhere. I’ll lie in bed sleeping and waking up, thinking and dreaming. I always want to reach over and hold onto my wife, my best friend, the one I am closer to than I can understand. I’ve had lots of girlfriends and was married once before but at that time in my life I was so busy trying to be me, trying to be good enough or cool enough or some other idea of mine that was more important at the time than being close to someone else, there was no real sense of leaving when I travelled. Maybe the truth is it’s not a sense of leaving I feel now but a deep feeling of belonging, a feeling that’s with me whether we are together or apart.

You see my wife, my Mee, that’s her name Mee and it sure fits her and us, she is more independent even than I am, at least in our connection she is. That’s a twist of fate in my life, for me to be the one that likes to hang onto a hug a little longer, the one that feels a twinge of sad whenever I know I am about to fly off into the world again. It’s a sweet, sad feeling to miss her before I leave, to miss the feeling of being home with her and our little girls while I’m getting up and trying to be quiet as I get ready to ease out the door on another journey.

Being connected to each other has changed a lot about how I value my life and my relationship to this world we live in. I feel safe close to her, I feel like together we are a whole Universe and all is well as long as we have us. I’ve never felt like that before, never had that deep a light shining, calling me home again. I still come and go, like I have my whole life, of course I came by my travelling ways naturally being born into a family that lived on the Northeast coast of Florida and had a Ranch in Southern Wyoming where I spent all my summers. Seems like I’ve always been going somewhere else and I’ve always loved the going and the coming back home again.

These days though I’m too aware that what we have in this world is all a passing thing, it comes and goes no matter how much we Love or Hate where we are, it’s all like a wisp of wood smoke, strong enough to burn your eyes and make you cough but just as quick it’s gone forever like it was never there in the first place. You can hold onto the memory but memories aren’t real, our breath and touch is real and it’s the knowing that the breath and touch are all passing with time too that leaves me wanting to hold on. I guess I am afraid I might leave one day and never make it back to feel that feeling again, to hug that extra second or stop to take that last breath in and watch our little ones getting ready for school not aware that I’m standing there in the door.

Life on Earth sure has it’s messes and problems I see all that today as a result of how we have made so many things more important than how it really feels to be close to each other and share life from the Heart. Realizing what really matters on the inside is a great gift, maybe it’s a gift of the years that you have to live long enough and worship enough phony ideas that you come full circle to your own true Heart again. What I know is my life has a home today and my Heart has a connection to Loving and sharing that I wouldn’t trade all the deals of bright lights and big money for, not ever. I’m really grateful that I’ve lived long enough to make it to this point and God willing I’ll live this way of being for a long time coming. Another Journey another Dream, another place in time, another ceremony, there will always be a Light in my Heart that brings me home and coming home is always the greatest gift of the Journey.

Anomalies Associated with the Healdsburg Exchange Bank Robbery of Jan. 12, 2012

· Cloverdale Police Chief Mark Tuma personally made the field arrest of the suspect rather than following the procedure of allowing his patrol officers to make the arrest

· Brevity and utter lack of expressed concern ofthe Branch Manager’s informational statement surrounding the robbery. Renderinga one sentence description more apt for a fast food lunch than a seriouscomment in response to a felony crime committed on his watch

· A witness just happened to decide to copy down a car’s license plate number whenthe Healdsburg Exchange Bank Branch Manager described the robbery as “a quickin and out.” (No audible alarm sounded)

· The unusually brief prison sentence handed downto the bank robber, who was tweeting from luxurious vacation destinations fromaround the world just two months after the felony holdup by the repeat offenderout on parole

Healdsburg Police Chief- "People Get the Kind of Police Force that They Are Willing to Pay For"

Posted by Sherlock Pwahrow on August 30, 2014 at 8:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Was the Healdsburg Exchange bank robbery of January 12, 2012, an inside job? In the arranging of a smooth in and out bank holdup by a parolee, to ostensibly frighten a particular target patron, the Healdsburg Police have not only crossed the line, they have absolutely leaped over it.

So who was the Judge that so ably assisted in the farce of a trial that produced a verdict that allowed a bank robber to instead of paying his lawful debt to society, to instead go Scot-free?

Police have been double dipping in Healdsburg, Sonoma County at large and beyond. Accepting their weekly pay from the city and county, in addition to a fat retainer from organized crime.

And it's not a new development either. The Healdsburg Police Chief said, "People get the kind of Police force that they are willing to pay for." Implying that those that can pay a higher price (like organized crime) get preference.
